Emerald green vase by Gunnel Nyman from Nuutajärvi

Description: Height 26 cm.

Gunnel Nyman was hired at Nuutajärvi Glassworks in 1946, only two years before her death in 1948. However, she designed more 60 designs of household articles and art glass.

She was very very interested with how light was broken in glass and therefore worked extensively with air bubbles in the glass and the shape of the glass piece itself.

Despite Gunnel Nyman's short career, she was one of the most influential designers in the modern glass movement in Finland.

The vase is not signet and have some factory marks at the top - please see pictures.
