Purple vase by Gunnel Nyman from Nuutajärvi

Description: Height 26 cm.

The vase is signed G. Nyman Nuutajärvi Notsjö.
Is is in very good condition but have a little line at the top part.

Gunnel Nyman was hired at Nuutajärvi Glassworks in 1946, only two years before her death in 1948. However, she designed more 60 designs of household articles and art glass.

She was very very interested with how light was broken in glass and therefore worked extensively with air bubbles in the glass and the shape of the glass piece itself.

Despite Gunnel Nyman's short career, she was one of the most influential designers in the modern glass movement in Finland.
