In Denmark, inches, feet and ell are used as official units of measurement until 1907, where the metric system is introduced.
The ell system has been in use in most of Europe, but there was no international standard for what an ell was. It changes from country to country and even within the borders of the country it could swing. In Denmark, we had a Zealand ell and a Jytlandian ell.

The ell-wand is in a nice original condition.
