Item number: 460748

Description: Length 20 cm.

Beautiful and unusual bracelet with markasitter set in brass.
It consists of 8 joints and the clasp, all of which are made like stars in brass, set with many markasites on each joint. Each joint is assembled with two small rings, which also are set with markasites.

Markasites are most often put on jewelry silver, to achieve the dark oxidized color of the silver, many of these jewelry are from the 1920s, when markasites flourished as an alternative to the more expensive diamonds. That these markasites are set on brass together with the bracelet's expression shows that it is from the 1860s and 1870s, where i.a. many of the famous garnet jewelry, on gilded brass are also from.

The bracelet is in perfect condition.
