Pink Georgette glass

Sold
Item number: 397965

Description: Height 12.8 cm.
Georgette is produced at Holmegaard from 1917 and is the last time in Holmegaard's catalog of 1938. Georgette is one of Holmegaard's import services from Belgian Val Saint Lambert, where the only difference is the number of rows of crossing cuts.
Holmegaard's version has five rows and Val Saint Lamberts has six rows.
These glasses have all six rows.

It is cut with crosses and palms to reflect the electrical light that appeared, in private homes, in this time.

Georgette is available in two versions, this with a cut stem and a smooth stem, called Arne. It is quite traditional to have manufactured two almost identical glasses, one in crystal, like Georgette, and one in the cheaper soda glass, like Arne.

It is seen, among other things, with the well-known Ulla glass made of soda glass and the much rare Ulrik glass made of crystal.
