In 1975, Royal Copenhagen released the first "Historical Plate" to celebrate the 200th anniversary of its founding. A total of six plates was released until 1980.

This one dates from 1978 and is celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Discovery of Hawaii.
1778 - 1978 - James Cook's Discovery of Hawaii.
