Opaline strawberry set from the 1910's

Description: German strawberry set consisting of jug, sugar bowl and bowl on a foot, both with handles.

Height of pitcher 27 cm.

Height of the bowl on a foot 15 cm. Diameter 19 cm.

Height of sugar bowl 7 cm. Diameter 11 cm.

The painting is in very nice condition, the sugar bowl have some wear.
The silver plated mountings are worn but can be polished if wished for.

The pitchers golden edges are worn.
As more and more Danes got more money between their hands in the early 1900's, desserts became a more common eating.

Sugar had before been a very expensive imported item and reserved for the few, but with the sugar beet being cultivated on Lolland, the sugar was suddenly a Danish domestic product and made payable.

The set is made in Germany, in mint green opal glass and is painted with enamel paint, which is burned firmly.
