You mix metals to the glass or glaze to get this shiny but completely transparent color.
Lustre is often found in orange and reddish tones, as sulfur or gold are mixed in the mass to get these colors.

The salt hen is in very good condition - ready for your easter table.

Lustre glass is not to be confused with American Carnival glass, which isnot transperent, usually in dark colors.
