Wengé is an extremely hard African wood type. It's so hard that carpenters much more often must grind and polish their knives and tools than other woods.

The trays are made of solid wengé and both have a black formica bottom.

One has the original Voss sticker at the bottom - Voss made things for the kitchen in the 1950s and 1960s.

They have traces of use - please see the pictures.
