Low, circular stoneware bowl with a restrained architectural form and subtly profiled rim. The light, muted glaze in cream and sand tones highlights Svend Hammershøi’s characteristic emphasis on proportion, surface, and material presence. A classic example of Kähler’s functional and timeless design language from the interwar period.

Bio:
Svend Hammershøi was one of the leading figures in Danish ceramics in the early 20th century and worked closely with Kähler in Næstved. His work is defined by strict geometry, tactile surfaces, and a calm, architectural approach to form. Today, his ceramics from the 1920s and 1930s are regarded as key works in the history of Danish modern ceramics.
