Biography :
James Guitet (1925–2010) was a French painter known for his contributions to lyrical abstraction. In the 1970s, he collaborated with the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres, creating porcelain pieces that blended his abstract style with functional design. One of his most notable works from this period is the "Service Diane" series, produced in 1970, which reflects his fusion of art and utility. Guitet's minimalist approach, focusing on form and color, made his Sèvres creations stand out, merging his artistic vision with fine craftsmanship. His work is part of collections at major museums like the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nantes and Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris.
